Why Should You Use Toner?
![]() |
Do you really need a Toner? |
Toner is not necessary, but they can be a great adjunct to a skincare regimen especially for those who need help with oily skin or markedly plugged pores. Toner removes any last traces of dirt, grime and impurities stuck in your pores even after you wash your face. If you add to your daily skincare routine and if you use it regularly, it can have a more positive impact on the appearance and tightness of your pores.
Benefits of Toner
2) It balances the pH level of the skin.
3) It restores an acidic state so that skin is purified and better able to absorb moisture and other beneficial ingredients from serums and creams applied after.
4) Helps to remove all the excess oil and makeup from your skin.
5) Helps to give skin a tighter, firmer look.
How to use Face Toner?
You should use toner just after washing your face. Soak a cotton pad with toner, then swipe it over your entire face and neck. If you want to go green and skip the cotton pad, you can also put a few drops of toner into the palm of your hands and then press it into your face. How long should you leave the toner on your face?
Since most toners are water-based, so they absorb into the skin fairly and quickly. Make sure to let the toner sink in completely before applying any other products this will help your skin retain moisture and protect against impurities. Generally, it is not meant to be washed away, UNLESS, your particular toner's instructions request you do so. But again can you leave it overnight? If you're using an alcohol-free toner, then leaving it overnight is perfectly fine.
